If we transfer your personal information outside the Republic of South Africa (for example via cloud services), we will ensure that the recipient country has an adequate level of protection, or that appropriate safeguards are in place (such as standard contractual clauses), to comply with POPIA’s cross-border transfer requirements.

12. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • Request confirmation whether we hold personal information about you.

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.

  • Request the correction or deletion of your personal information if it is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out-of-date, misleading or unlawfully obtained.

  • Object to the processing of your personal information (including for direct marketing).

  • Withdraw consent at any time (for processing based on consent).

13. Reviews and Ratings

When you provide a rating or review of a product on the Site, you consent to us using that review (including your first name) for marketing, newsletters or other promotional purposes. We will not display your last name or contact details alongside the review. If you do not agree, please do not submit a review.

14. Liability

MikroTech undertakes never to sell or make your personal information available to any third party other than as provided for in this policy. Whilst we do all things reasonably necessary to protect your rights of privacy,  we cannot guarantee or accept liability whatsoever for unauthorized or unlawful disclosures if your personal information, whilst in our possession, made by third parties who are not subject to our control.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect when the policy was last revised. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated version on our Site.

16. Account Deletion & Data Removal

If you wish to delete your account and all associated personal information that we hold (subject to any legal obligations to retain data), please complete the form available at: https://mikrotech.co.za/delete-my-account/.
Once we receive your request we will:

  • Confirm your identity;

  • Delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we are required by law to retain certain information (for example for tax or warranty purposes);

  • Confirm to you that your request has been completed.
